New September 28, 2018

Dear Families,
It’s hard to believe that October is around the corner.  Please continue to send in appropriate clothing for this good ole Vermont weather.  One must be prepared for all sorts of weather!  It would be very helpful to label jackets & sweatshirts.  Thanks for your help with this.  The children are starting to learn the routine of recess first, then lunch.  Often, kids might leave their jackets outside or in the lunchroom.  It is helpful to locate, if it is labeled!

FIELDTRIP:  Our first field trip is just around the corner.  We will be going to Mazza’s on Tuesday, October 9th to pick pumpkins, eat cider donuts and drink apple cider!!!  We will be leaving school at 8:50.  If you are interested in coming, parents are asked to bring $2.00.  You will get cider and a donut.  Kids should bring in a tote bag to carry their own pumpkin.  We will be doing some fun projects with our pumpkins upon our return. Please let us know ASAP if you would like to join us.  Please have your child wear mud boots or bring an extra pair of sneakers to wear to the pumpkin patch.

Here are a few things to ask your child about…
        *good fit books
        *setting goals for reading
        *building stamina to read longer
*make our reading sound smoother and smoother each time we read (build fluency)
        *Facts to 10 (rainbow math)
*Rek-n-Reks or number racks (same thing)
        *Ten and more
        *Math About Me project
        *our mascot Rasheed the lion
        *digraphs and blends
        *Bucket Filling!

Reminders…
